Is this for you?

This care is for you if

  • Your feet or legs feel worn down after long descents

We look at how you land, how you load and what tires first.

  • You are building toward a long trip or race

We plan the training load around your date.

  • You are coming back to the trail after time off

We plan a way back that fits what your doctor has told you.

  • You want someone to watch how you run

On a treadmill, on video if you like, in the shoes you train in.

A visit

What a visit looks like

A first visit is about an hour with a physical therapist.

  • 01

Talk about your routes and plans

Distance, terrain and what you want to do next season.

  • 02

    Watch you walk and run

Strength, balance, and how you move at your own pace.

  • 03

    Plan strength and training load

Exercises and a schedule that fit your week.

What we do

How we work with you

  • Walking and running assessment

We watch you walk and run, on video if you like, and explain what we see.

  • Foot, ankle and hip strength work

Exercises you can do at home, with a plan for when to step them up.

  • A load plan that fits your calendar

How to build toward a trip or race and where to leave room for rest.

Good to know

  • What decides how many visits

It depends on what we find, how long it has been going on, what you want to do next and how you respond to the first weeks. We tell you what we expect after your first visit and review it as we go.

  • Who treats you

A physical therapist at every visit. Our therapists are licensed in Montana, and their license lines are on the team page and in the footer.

  • We bill many kinds of plans, and you can pay yourself. The fees page explains how.

  • When to see a doctor first or call 911

See a doctor first, or go to an emergency room, if a joint looks out of place, you cannot put weight on a leg after a fall, or pain follows a hard blow to the head or back. Call 911 for chest pain, trouble breathing, numbness in the groin, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a head injury with confusion or vomiting.

Questions

A few questions about this care

Do you need to see me run?

It helps. Bring the shoes you train in, and tell us about the surfaces you run on.

Can you help with a trip I already booked?

We can build a plan backward from your trip date, and we tell you plainly what a plan can and cannot do.

Should I bring my pack?

If you carry one, yes. We will look at how you move with it.

Got a trip on the calendar?

Tell us the date and the distance and we will plan backward from it.
